Shaper Cutters
Shaper Cutters
These shaper cutters make stile and rail work easy.
They can be used to make beautiful doors, in either M.D.F., or solid lumber. We make use of jigs to help set the proper cutting
depth, for each cutter. We use H.M.W.P.,(high molecular weight polyethylene), for these jigs, as they're unaffected by expansion
and contraction, due to humidity changes. This can be purchased at Woodcraft, in small "grab bags" of assorted size pieces. The jigs can be
small squares, about 5" square. When installing a bit in the tool, set the depth according the pre shaped jig. Use a scrap of wood to get the
height setting right for the jig. Always make sure that the bit is inserted almost all the way into the tool, but do not let it "bottom out".
We make it a habit of inserting a rubber O-ring into the shaft of the router, or shaper, to prevent the bit from hitting bottom. This will
prevent damage to the collet and bit, as it tightens on the bit.
Industrial quality carbide shaper cutters offer incrediable quality at an affordable
price.
